Operation Christmas Child | 11/17

If you haven't heard, Operation Christmas Child is happening at our church! It is also the mission focus of the Oasis conference this weekend. The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations. They do this by sending shoeboxes around the world filled with things such as hygiene items, school supplies, clothing, and toys for kids who might not normally ever receive gifts like this. Along with the items there are ways for them to learn about Jesus in the boxes as well.

Here is where the Middle School Ministry comes in! I would love to give our students opportunities to serve and give to other people in tangible ways like this. So, on November 17th, during our small group times, we are going to pack boxes. Our goal will be to pack 50 shoeboxes as a ministry!

Here is where YOU come in! There is a financial piece to sending these boxes. Each box costs $9 to ship oversees. Would you consider bringing or sending with your child these two things:
1) $9 to cover the shipping cost of one box (checks can be made payable to "OCC" or "Operation Christmas Child"
2) A "wow" item to put in a shoebox (soccer ball with pump, doll, toy truck, stuffed animal, outfit, a harmonica or recorder)

If you would provide these two things we will provide the hygiene items, school supplies, small toys, and other items to go into these boxes.

This is a small opportunity for our students to tangibly show the love of Jesus with people across the world. Would you consider partnering with us??

You can drop off money and wow items to youth group on the 10th or the 17th. Thank you!
