What is a Lock-in?

- This is an event where we will be spending the entire evening doing youth group activities, playing games, eating pizza, and cultivating relationships. We will be eating pizza right after midnight, but we will have some snacks and drinks throughout the evening. Games, Mario Kart Tournament, Middle School U style Continental breakfast (Pop-tarts), and finishing the event off with a movie (G rated, Finding Nemo).

Who can attend?

- 6th-8th graders that attend UCC and their 6th-8th grade friends (plus all of our amazing Adult Leaders!)

When is the New Year’s Eve Lock-In?

- Check-in is from 7 p.m. on December 31st 2025 - 7 a.m. January 1st 2026

Where are we staying?

- Everything for this event is happening at University Christian Church on 2800 Claflin Rd, Manhattan, KS 66502 in The U (UCC Youth Building). We will not be leaving the UCC property.

How much does it cost?

- $5. Yep. You get to pay $5 and have 12 hours of incredible fun for your 6th-8th grader. If the registration cost is an obstacle for you, please know that we don't want finances to keep you from participating. The church will do what we can to assist you. We ask that you fill out a SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION online for the event.

What forms do I need to fill out?

- Students’ must have the new NextGen Medical Release Form filled out BEFORE this event begins.

NextGen Medical Release Form

This form should work for all UCC events for 1 full calendar year. Make sure that your form is updated and ready to go!

What should I bring?

- We want to encourage students to leave their devices at home for this event. All of our Adult Leaders have phones on them in case of emergency. This is the first event where our “No Phones” policy will be in place.

Students are encouraged to bring: A pillow and blanket, board games, card games, coloring books, and/or colored pencils/markers/crayons/pens. These are all optional and there will be plenty of fun things for them to participate in.

There is one activity that needs close-toed shoes to have the best experience.

If you have questions, please reach out to Andrew Jansen, Middle School Pastor, via email at andrew@university.church.
